At Challis Dance School, our preschool ballet classes are tailored for little ones aged 2.5 to 4 years. These creative, fun, and exciting sessions aim to develop fine and gross motor skills in a caring and nurturing environment.

Ballet is an iconic activity for children, offering a multitude of benefits for their physical, mental, and emotional development.

Ballet focuses on developing strength and flexibility through movement. This can improve posture, coordination, and overall body control.

The discipline and focus required is also good for mental health and well being.

We follow Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and offer optional exams from Preprimary to Vocational exams.

Tap Dance is an exciting, percussive, rhythmical dance form. The dancer uses their feet to strike the floor, beating out a melody, with tap shoes which have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound. Tap dance is a theatrical art form often seen on stage, screen and in musicals.

We follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabus, offering progression throughout the graded system into vocational exams with optional exams. The classes are suitable from aged 4 years upwards.

Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style rooted in musical theatre, which originated in America. It is often seen in musical productions and is known for its dynamic theatrical qualities.

The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility.

Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Modern Theatre also incorporates jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance styles into its examination syllabus. Modern Theatre Dance defies a single permanent definition. This is largely due to its ability to adapt, develop and evolve with the changing fashion in dance.

We have various classes throughout our timetable suitable for children aged 4-18.

Our Musical Theatre group brings together the vibrant worlds of dance, drama, and singing, creating a dynamic environment for aspiring performers of all ages. This exciting program allows students to explore a variety of styles, from classic show tunes to contemporary hits, while developing their acting skills and dance techniques.

With the guidance of our trained professional teachers, participants will gain confidence and creativity as they learn to express themselves through performance. We provide a safe, nurturing environment to allow the students to perform with confidence and work together in a team.

A 30 minute class is £54.70 per 10 week term

A 45 minute class is £74.60 per 10 week term.

Terms which are longer or shorter are invoiced pro rata.
